Rock Band 2 - Export Fee, WtF!?

So, I recently tried to do one of the Battle of the Bands in Rock Band 2. A lot of them require certain downloaded songs, which is fine, but some also require songs from Rock Band 1. A big promo thing with Rock Band 2 seemed to be the ability to export your songs from RB1 onto your XBox hard drive and then play them on RB2, right? Well, what they didn't advertise was the fact that if you want to do this, you have to purchase the export rights for your Rock Band 1 songs from the Xbox Live Marketplace. You already own Rock Band 1, but in order to put MOST (not even all) the songs onto your Xbox so that they are playable with Rock Band 2, you have to pay 400 Microsoft Points! That's about $6.00, which is not crazy expensive, but considering you already bought both RB1 and RB2, it just seems somewhat ridiculous for them then to ask for more money! If you need the songs from RB1 to play RB2 to it's full potential, they should have been included on the RB2 Disk, or the exporting should not have a fee! I understand that it's probably some licencing thing that requires you to purchase the exporting rights, but it should either be included in the price of the game, paid for by the company, or the songs from Rock Band 1 should not be required to do anything in Rock Band 2. I'm kinda pissed about it. I needed the Garbage song from RB1 to do a Battle of the Bands, but in order to get it, I would have needed to fork out 400 Microsoft Points, which I decided was too much!

Let me know if you agree/ disagree and if anyone actually paid the $6.00 to play the game you already owned. I admit that I almost did, lol but then was too angry.

Too Many Games, Not Enough Time!

Forgive my recent slacking in the blog area! I just got my Internet connection back not long ago, just in time for every game I have been waiting for to come out, all in like a three month period! I didn't have trouble deciding between games, because I just got them all, lol, but now I have a new problem! I don't have enough time to play all these games to their full potential!

I got Rock Band 2 first, and played that ALMOST all the way through, but I didn't have XBL then, so I haven't actually tried much of the online play yet, which I really want to do, but I just haven't found the time. I then got Gears of War 2. I LOVED GoW1, and chainsawed the hell out of people, but I have barely even touched GoW2 yet! I played Fallout 3 for a couple hours. It is awesome, and I love it, but I've only actually sat down and played it twice! Then there is Wrath of the Litch King, which did absorb a week of my life there, but even my old vice World of Warcraft, isn't getting the obsessive attention it rightfully deserves!!! I also bought Fable 2, and CoD World at War, but haven't even had a chance to play them once yet!!!

I get that everyone brings out their new games around Christmas time, but c'mon! It's just too many really good games all at the same time! I am overwhelmed! Needless to say they are all fantastic and you should make sure Santa knows you want them all!

WotLK - Warcraft Obsession Renewed...

Oh Blizz, you bastards! Finally I had gotten away from World of Warcraft! I was down to playing maybe a few hours a week at most, and now... Well, now I look like a crack addict again with these epic bags under my eyes!! 36 hour play sessions, 6 characters to level from 70-80, a Deathknight to get to 80, professions to level to 450 and those new achievements too!!! World of Warcraft has gone from being slightly boring, but still enjoyable at times, to ALL I have been doing!

I started out WotLK by making a Deathknight... like a couple other million people. I was hooked right away! They are like a strange combination of a warlock, warrior and rogue sort of, and they have NO downtime what-so-ever! I got to 64 on my Deathknight over the first weekend (I went blood spec with mine, no fun ghoul, but man can I dps!), but then my leveling partner had to go out of town for the week so I had to put her aside and decide which of my 70s to level to 80 first. I decided on my pally, because she has been my main forever and they made her own in that last patch before the expansion. (She's holy/ret, kinda shockadinish, probably a lame build, but it works for me!) I like the achievements when leveling, it encourages me too look around a new zone to get the exploration one and the quest achievement for a zone lets me know if I am missing a camp of quests or when I am almost finished.

The quests in Northrend so far have been amazing! They are actually fun and none of them have been difficult so far (I am currently level 76). As a pally I can solo any two man quests and some of the three mans, so it has all been pretty easy! Each level is taking approximately 8 hours right now, but I am guessing that will be significantly shorter on my next character through Northrend when I actually know how to do all the quests!

I will update more when I actually reach 80 on my Paladin and my Deathknight, but for now that is all I will say, because I really want to get back to playing!!!

Update

So I still have no Internet connection to call my own, so my gaming has been rather limited as of late! I have still been able to get onto WoW at my friend's house, and I have been playing lots of CoD4 offline, and lots of Rock Band 2, but that has been the extent of my gaming. I NEED to have my connection back by November so that I can play the release of Wrath of The Litch King!!! If I am even a week behind everyone else I am so going to cry, lol. I am hoping to get back online in a week or two though, so hopefully I will see everyone on Live/ WoW shortly!!!

Rock Band 2 Review

Wow, I was so excited about Rock Band 2 coming out! I have been thinking about it for months now and have had it pre-ordered for just as long. I looked through the set list a couple weeks ago, and there seemed to be a lot of good ones in there, which only added to my anticipation. I finally got to try it out on Sunday afternoon, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Rock Band 2 resembles Rock Band 1 in a lot of ways, which is fine, because Rock Band 1 was great. There was supposed to be a ton more ways to customize your rockers, and there is some new stuff, like the Thrift Treasures clothes (which is a new style added under the Goth Garb, Metal Merch, Punk Pieces and Rock Rags that were available in RB1), but they didn’t really add any new oufits to the old styles, which was disappointing. There are a few new hairstyles and hats and things. New accessories like piercing and bandanas, new tattoos and make up, but overall they really didn’t add as much as I was expecting in the customization category. I am sure this isn’t a big deal for most Rock Band fans out there, but dressing up my character was always something I really enjoyed, and was sort of expecting more.

The songs are good so far. There are a lot more songs with “talky parts” for vocals, but they seem to have made the “talky parts” easier to get Awesome on, which is nice, because in Rock Band 1 the “talky parts” were always the only things holding me back from Gold Stars. I have played through most of the starting songs on Hard and Expert Guitar, and they seem about the same, if not easier than the songs in Rock Band 1. The Tour Mode is basically the same as in Rock Band 1, but you get a lot more “Make a Setlist” and “Mystery Set List” things now. You can also hire certain people that will do things for your band, like a West Coast Promoter, who will unlock gigs on the west coast faster. There are also a lot more of those offers you can accept or decline before you play set lists, which are good for keeping things exciting!

I have played through some of the Challenges now as well. They are sort of like a cross between the single player tour mode from Rock Band 1 and the band tour. You can do most of them alone, and you get achievements and can unlock songs as you work through them. There isn’t like a specific Solo Career anymore, so I guess the Challenges are to add more to the game than just the World Tour. You can play through the Band World Tour on your own though, and there is even an option to make “stand in” characters so that your band members are always the same! I like that a lot, because I do enjoy playing alone sometimes (I can sing as loud as I want when I am alone, lol).

I haven’t finished unlocking all of the songs yet, which is a bit frustrating because two of the songs I was looking forward to the most seem to be pretty far along in the game (Disturbed – Down With The Sickness and Avenged Sevenfold – Almost Easy). Luckily I really enjoy most of the songs I have unlocked so far, so I don’t mind playing through them all a few times. Hopefully I can have everything unlocked by tomorrow night though, I seem to be getting there!

I haven’t been able to try out making an Xbox Live Band yet because I don’t have Xbox Live right now, but I am very excited about working through the world tour with a few of my closest XBL buddies!

Overall I am very happy with Rock Band 2 so far. It has fulfilled my expectations and beyond, and it is just as addicting as the first one. There is a wide variety of songs (and any you have downloaded previously are playable in RB2), tons of set lists to play through, fun new clothes (even though I’d like to see even more fun new clothes), challenges, XBL play, and you can even play through by yourself on Bass! Oh, and the achievements look good too! If you were at all into Rock Band 1, without a doubt you need to go out and get yourself Rock Band 2 right away! It rocks…. hehe

So Excited About Rock Band 2!!!

Can you believe it!? Only 21 more days until the release of what will surely be one of my favorite games of all time! ROCK BAND 2!!! That's right, September 15 is what I've read is Harmonix's release date (for the 360) for the sequel to the epic game, Rock Band, which has done amazingly well and is my absolute favorite game for the 360.

I did a bit of reading about Rock Band 2, and was ecstatic with all I read! They are adding new character customization, which will be awesome because I was happy with what Rock Band 1 offered, so even more options will be a bonus! There is also a tutorial for drums, which will supposedly make new comers to the drums able to play them without suffering so many embarrassing fails, which would make me happy (I still haven't beaten the medium solo career, lol)

I think that the most amazing thing that they are adding in Rock Band 2 is an ONLINE TOUR MODE!!! I was shocked that Rock Band 1 didn't have it, and am overjoyed to find out that it is now available in Rock Band 2 so that I can go on tour with all of my xbox live pals! Oh, and we get to use all of our Rock Band 1 songs AND Harmonix will be releasing a pack of 20 free songs for download shortly after the game is released!

There's a few more details on here on Game Spot, so definitely read through their article and have a look at their pics if you were a fan of Rock Band 1. Ooooooh I can hardly wait!!!!! hehe

Meicha The Mage Update

Well, first of all, Meicha the mage is now Lylia the mage. I had reached 22 on the Thrall server, only to realize the people I made a character there to talk to really were never on and when they were, usually didn’t answer me. Cursing myself for wasting my time making a character on a server I now didn’t want to be on, I considered my options. I could transfer Meicha over to Terenas, where I would have lots and lots of people to chat with while playing, but that would cost me money. I could remake a new mage somewhere, but my Terenas character list was already full. Finally I remembered Lylia! Just before I stopped playing nearly 5 months ago I had made a mage. She was now 25 and on the server Terenas, but she was on my “Alts Account”. I figured what the hell, and put some game time on that account. Lylia was also a draenei mage, and was even spec’d the same, so really it was just like skipping three levels but getting to play on a better server!

I started playing Lylia a fair bit before I lost my Internet AGAIN. I managed to get her to level 30 and now have my very first level 30 mount! My first Elek as well, because by level 30 I did not have enough rep to get a horsey =/ Basically playing Lylia is just like playing Meicha, only now I have help, company and more gold than any level 30 could ever need, haha. So, from now on I will update as I play Lylia the mage, and poor Meicha will be left in my “Alts I never play” list. Now I just need to get my Internet back so I can get to 70! =)

Meicha The Mage - Update

So it's been 15 hours of play time and I am still into my new mage! She is now level 21 and I have to say that leveling her has been the most fun I have had on WoW in months! I guess it must just be the Draenei starting area quests combined with the awesomeness of Gift of the Naru, because I have been having a (fire)blast! (lawl) . . . I have been leveling as fire, and am now level 21. No one's usually on in the guild I am in (which is all people from the town I live in) so it does kind of get lonely over on Thrall sometimes, but thankfully a few Blog readers have added me to their friends lists and say hello every so often, and the server itself seems rather friendly. I was surprised how many times random people have offered me assistance or given me little things to help me make my way on the new server a little easier.

Overall my experiences with Meicha have been pleasant, and I have yet to get grumpy or frustrated with the game while playing her! In fact I have only died once, which is a big change from all the previous mages I have played! Lets hope that keeps up all the way to 70!!
*oh, and I have made another character on Thrall now as well, just for fun! She is Kaylea the NE Druid, and yes I do already have a 70 Druid, but I wanted something to level with my friend*

Here I am in the armory: Meicha

Um, Is That A Bloodtroll Shamaladin? - World of Warcraft

So I am not sure how this happened, lmao, but my roommate logged into his account and for some reason it mushed his Troll Shaman, his Bloodelf Paladin and my Human Paladin (which is on a different account) all into one! I instantly named it a Bloodtroll Shamaladin, haha and we've had some fun joking about it for quite some time now. I thought I'd share seeing as I stumbled across the screen shot today and it still made me laugh. They should definitely add a Shamaladin class! Wouldn't they own???

Is Going Bisexual Now Like Going Blond??

Alright, so I know this does not relate directly to gaming, but this is something I have been thinking about for a while now and wanted to blog about. Are the many lesbian/bisexual female characters that now appear in movies/TV shows and the new hit song "I Kissed a Girl" helping to make it easier for bisexual girls to come out of their shoe closets? Or has society decided that being bisexual is now as appealing as being a blond? Just like so many girls who have dyed their hair to seem more appealing to the majority of guys out there, are girls now claiming to be bisexual for the same reasons? Sure, it is excellent that for girls, being bisexual/lesbian is accepted by the majority of our society today, and it is unfortunate that the same society is not also accepting of guys with the same interests, but why is this?

Most guys share the fantasy of being with two girls at once or having the privilege of watching two girls together, and this is of course known by everyone. Without a doubt this is why our society seems to be content with lesbians, while most still shun gay males. Even look at the names, if a girl likes another girl, she is a lesbian (which is a rather nice sounding word), but if a guy likes a guy he is gay or a homo or worse! So has this longing for girl on girl action spawned the latest fad of girls being into girls?

I recently spent some time browsing Myspace and Facebook profiles. An astounding 33% of the girls between age 14 and 29 had bisexual for their orientation, while another 20% had left it blank. Also, out of all the girls who had straight as their orientation, 4% of them had the "I Kissed A Girl" song on their play list. These are pretty impressive numbers, so are the younger generations now feeling more free to experiment with such things, or are they simply trying to win some horny guy's affections? Of course I can't say for the many Myspace and Facebook girls who claimed to be bisexual, but I can say for myself!

If you tell a guy that you are bisexual, they will always be more interested! Believe me, I've tried it out. I would always leave my "orientation" out of my profiles, not because I was not sure, but just in case I had to tell a guy that I was in fact secretly into girls. I didn't just claim to be bisexual on my profile because as much fun as it was to tell random Internet guys that I was, I knew that my friends would question it. I have noticed now that girls I know who are for sure not bisexual, claim to be online, and whenever "I Kissed A Girl" comes on at the bar, watch out because you're going to get kissed by one of your girl friends!

I really do think that being bisexual does make you appear more desirable to the general public, and therefore more and more girls are claiming to swing that way. Whether girls just tend to like girls more than guys and now feel that it is okay to act on that, or whether deciding to be bi is now like deciding to go blond, without a doubt, being bisexual will make you more popular! Look at all the actresses who have "come out" as bisexuals or lesbians who are now impossibly famous (Angelina Jolee, Ellen, Drew Barrymore), and look at the success of "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry (bisexual) or the popularity of Sex And The City's Samantha or the Showcase Series, The L Word. BEING BISEXUAL IS IN!

There are many articles insisting that being bisexual is not just a trend, and for the girls out there who are having relations with other girls, I believe this is true. However, the fact is that most girls who say they are bisexual (especially online) have never, and will never kiss a girl and like it!

Possible WoW Related Scam?

So I checked my e-mail today, and I saw I had a letter from Blizz that was entitled "Warning: Possible Account Closure" I quickly opened it up, not sure why but anxious to find out what had prompted such a letter. The e-mail said the following:

Greetings,

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that your account is being sold, traded, or is being used to sell in-game currency. As you may or may not be aware, this conflicts with our EULA under section 4 Paragraph B which can be found here:

WoW -> Legal -> End User License Agreement

and Section 8 of the Terms of Use found here:

WoW -> Legal -> Terms of Use

The investigation will be continued by Blizzard administration to determine the action to be taken against your account. If your account is found violating the EULA and Terms of Use, your account will be suspended or terminated. In order to keep this from occurring, you should verify that you are the original owner of the account as soon as possible.

I read it over a few times, still unsure how any of those things could be applied to any of my accounts. I barely ever play anymore and certainly am not selling gold or characters! I logged into each of the 4 WoW accounts that I have (not all are currently active, lol) to try and see if there was some kind of note on my account or anything, but there wasn't. Then I realized something! The address that I received the e-mail at is not the e-mail address I use for any of my accounts. I did not click on any of the links in the e-mail, but I am wondering if perhaps this letter is a fake and the links go to some virus infested website somewhere! I don't really want to click one and find out, just in case, lol but I was wondering if any of you other WoWers out there have gotten a similar e-mail?? All the links look like they go to the same place if I check their properties, except the last one, which says it goes to "http://by120w.bay120.mail.live.com/mail/InboxLight.aspx?n=592249740" and that it is 55844 bytes, but I have no idea what that could mean! haha... The address it came from looks legit, "noreply@blizzard.com" but it doesn't make sense that I'd receive such an e-mail with that e-mail account and they did spellregards wrong I think... Anyways, if any of you have gotten such an e-mail Or if you have an idea about how Blizz sent me an e-mail at an address that isn't connected to my accounts, let me know! If it's some sort of scam, it seems like it could be a good one and we should let people know about it!

My New WoW Character

Alright so I know I blogged like days ago about beating my WoW addiction, and I do actually believe I have, but I did make a new character nonetheless... I found out that some people I knew had some characters on the Thrall server, so I rolled a new character or two there. I then started reading about all the fun WotLK stuff and found out that it is supposed to be out in December of this year! I had always wanted to have at least one of every class at level 70 by the time WotLK came out, and I am so close to meeting my ultimate WoW goal that it'd be so sad if I didn't do it! I only need to level my hunter (who is level 44), my rogue (who is level 43) and then my newest character who is a mage and that would be a 70 of every class! Of course it would be fun to get my second Alliance paladin to 70 as well (she is 53), and my horde paladin to 70 (she's 62)... but I wont worry about those two until after the others!

My new character's name is Meicha (pronounced Meesha or Myka... i haven't decided yet, lol) and she is a Draenei mage. I figured I'd play the mage for now because she is on the Thrall server and because mages are easy to play without a mouse! (I have to play on my laptop until I get a new screen for my desktop, and my laptop doesn't really have a mouse...) I am currently level 13 and so far I am enjoying her! I thought I'd make this post about her and then have some follow up posts if everything continues to go well! =)

Where I Got The Idea For My Novel

I wrote this up for my website (which I am still working away on), but figured I'd post it here too just in case anyone was interested in my novel or where I got the idea for it. Feel free to contact me or comment if you'd like more information.

I first got my idea for Fateful Course while playing one of my favorite games, World of Warcraft. Those of you who are familiar with this game will understand my explanation. I was rather new to the game and had recently started a Night Elf character. Night Elves are basically like most fictional Elvish races, woodsy and tall. I met up with an Undead Warlock, who was plaguing Teldrassil. An "Undead" in World of Warcraft is basically what it sounds like, a being that was once deceased and has since risen from the grave. Undead and Night Elves are different alliances, but I ended up spending well over an hour communicating with this Warlock through different gestures and had a good time flirting and dancing with the enemy. This encounter is what first got me thinking about two characters from separate alliances falling in love.

I had originally intended Starlight's love interest in Fateful Course to be an Undead wizard, but about half way through I changed Tempest into a human Necromancer, thereby making a more physical relationship between the characters possible. I retained Tempest's creepy vibe by making him very much into raising the dead and other strange things Necromancers do.

Tempest is based very loosely on some people I have known. Very detached manipulative people have always fascinated me, and I have always wanted to create such a character in my writing. Tempest started out as a creepy, emotionally manipulative character who is rather unlikeable, but as I wrote, he evolved into a deep and complex man with such conflicting emotions that I actually became quite fond of him. Because of this, Starlight became quite fond of him as well.

I had always wanted Starlight to be a very strong heroine, but I wanted her to fall for some of Tempest's dark charms as well. Rather than write only from her point of view however, I wanted to show Tempest's thoughts as he worked through his many schemes, thereby perhaps creating sympathy for a rather unlikeable character. Starlight is based on a Dungeons and Dragons character I had played while growing up. She is confident and strong and in complete control when she is in her element, but when she finds herself on unfamiliar ground, she is easily swayed. This flaw, combined with a bit of fate is what helps draw her to Tempest and although she is constantly striving for nobility and honor, she quickly looses her way with Tempest by her side.

I have started many such stories over the years, and when I began Fateful Course a year ago I never imagined it would become my very first novel. It has always been my dream to one day be a novelist, but those dreams had been somewhat forgotten as I grew older. When Fateful Course began pouring out of me I decided that I would finish this story! I never wrote it with any expectations or hopes. I wrote it for me. Whether it is well received or not is irrelevant, the important thing is it has reignited my old passion for writing, and since I have finished it I have already started half a dozen new projects. I just figure, if I wasn't meant to write, I wouldn't enjoy it so much!

If You're Considering Buying WoW Gold...

So I know I have blogged on the prospect of purchasing WoW gold previously, but I thought I would make a quick post about another option I stumbled upon. I haven't had the time to play as much recently, and therefor my previous idea of getting rich by doing dailys isn't working! Of course I personally would never buy WoW gold, but I did start looking into buying something that would help me make a lot of gold!

The average WoW gold price is about $75 (US) for 1000g. Sure you'd think this is a reasonable price to charge if you were the one out there farming, but really to the average gamer, this is way too much! I know I would never pay that much anyways.

Something I would pay for however is a guide on how to make my own gold! Of course it'd have to be actually useful and not just things I already know! So, I did some shopping around online. I came across the Warcraft Millionaire page right away. It had some pretty good reviews so I checked it out. It had a "if you don't like it, return for a full refund" guarantee thing, so I figured what the hell?

I was impressed! There actually were a lot of things I had never thought to try! I truly intended to buy it, read everything I had already figured out for myself, be disappointed and then just get my money back, but I didn't! I was also worried that the guide would be totally useless when WotLK comes out, but the guy actually has free updates for the guide concerning any of the big patches/ expansions!

To say the lest, I was happy with the Warcraft Millionaire Blueprint, hehe! If any of you guys have decided to start saving up for WotLK or have been saving to buy your epic flyer, have a look at the details for this guide! Hopefully it can help you out as much as it helped me!

Best Chainletter Ever

I know this doesn't necessarily have anything to do with gaming... but I am posting it anyways!

Alright so I am sure we have all gotten a fair share of e-mail chain letters in our time, right? There are the ones that threaten you with bad luck for 30 years if you don't send it on to 50 of your closest friends, and the ones that promise you that the love of your life will kiss you seven hours after you forward it to 10 people, but what they all have in common is that they are horribly stupid and are a waste of inbox space! They try to trick you into opening them with titles like "OMG Guess What!?" or "I am moving away!" or something like that, so I got one today that was entitled "Sleepover Gone Way Wrong!" I figured it was a chainletter of sorts, but opened it anyways and as soon as I started reading I couldn't stop! Haha, without a doubt the following is the most hilarious attempt at a scary chainletter I have ever experienced, and as I was reading it aloud to my roommate I could barely get through it because I couldn't stop laughing! I have not changed a word of it, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Lol...

One night these five girls were having a sleepover when they heard
~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
chaos at the end of her street.
~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
~~~~~
they went down to find out what was happening.
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
they learned that a woman was
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
raped and the man was on the loose.
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
so they quickly ran home
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
and bolt everything down.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
everything settles down for a while
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
then they started hearing weird noises
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
coming from outside.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
they let their minds go wild
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
so they got scared and hid inside a closet.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

the man was really outside and
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
found a window that had a broken bolt.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
he crept in quietly.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
the girls were scared crapless.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
he walked into the room
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
and opened the closet,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
the girls screamed and ran in separate directions.

~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

four of the girls went downstairs and

~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

locked the cellar door,

~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

that was right above the bathroom.

~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

He caught the fifth girl
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

and took her into the bathroom,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
raped her,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

and skinned her alive.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

her friends heard her die that night
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~

but couldnt do anything about it.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
they listened to her scratching the door to get out.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
in the morning when he had fled,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
the remaining went into the bathroom.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
There engraved into the wall was her message:
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
'how could you have let me die'

~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
they looked up to get the tears out of their eyes
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
and saw her flesh dangling from the knife that skinned her.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
If you dont repost this
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
the man will skin you alive too,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
because they havent caught him yet.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
And the girl will make sure you will die,
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
so she can pass on the tale.
~~~~~~~
~~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~
Fact: A girl died in 1933 by a homicidal murderer.
He buried her in the ground when she was still alive.
The murderer chanted 'Toma soto balca' as he buried her.
Now that you have read the chant, you will meet this little girl.
In the middle of the night she will be on your ceiling.
She will suffocate you like she was suffocated.
If you send this on, she will not bother you.
Your kindness will be rewarded
repost this with the title 'sleepover gone way wrong
DNT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU.. SEND THIS TO 20 PPL AND YOU WONT GET RAPED OR KILLED BUY THE WEIRD MAN!?
It totally made me think of "Halflife, Fulllife Concequences", if you have seen that Youtube video! (If you haven't you should totally look it up, lol because it is hillarious!)
Oh Very Helpful... lol
So you know those security letters you have to type in when you are creating an account for something or retrieving a password so that the website knows you aren't just a computer? Well I came across some while trying to retrieve my gmail password today that I couldn't figure out! (not the example here... unfortunately I didn't think to take a pic of them) I am usually pretty good with them, but these letters were all smushed together way too close for me to tell what they were. So, I clicked on the little wheelchair button (which I assumed meant help) and the following audio is what played every time I clicked it! Lol.
Thankfully I ended up remembering my password!!!
Mounts At Level 30!!!
I couldn't believe it at first, but it's true! As of patch 2.4.3, you can now get your first mount at level 30, not level 40! This includes your free warlock/paladin mount and for all you other classes, the training is now only 35g!
In addition to lowering the level at which you can now get your mounts, some other interesting things from the patch notes are that for warlocks, there will be no more choosing between Curse of Shadow and Curse of Elements! They combined the curses into one that now does Fire, Frost, Arcane, and Shadow =D
Something that I think is fun is that Haris Pilton (from the Inn in Shat) will now sell jewelry and bags! haha.
A sporegar dude now sells a 28 slot herb bag tailoring pattern to people of appropriate rep.
You can now get a non-combatant pet from the Netherguard people! He's very cute!
That is all =)
OMG Party Chat On Xbox Live!?
So I've always been rather disappointed that there isn't any kind of party chat offered on xbox live other than in game ones. I was surprised when I found out that you could only chat with one person at a time in an xbox live chat party, and found it rather inefficient, because there was always a few people I wanted to be talking to, and instead of just all talking together, I had to choose between friends! Lol. I was so glad to hear that sometime this year Xbox Live will be undergoing a variety of changes, including adding a party chat that can accommodate up to 8 people! =D That will be awesome!
I guess they are also adding "Avatars". Supposedly these will be similar to the Wii's "Mii" things. I've never seen a Mii, because I have only played a Wii once, but I like the idea of being able to customize your own little character! I hope there are lots of customization options though and not like a few different choices for how your Avatar can look, because it would be really lame if everyone's ended up looking alike!
In addition to the party chat and Avatars they are also adding Xbox Live Primetime. I guess you will be able to play games against other people with a host, and you can win real prizes! Lol, this sounds sweet, other than so far I haven't been good enough at any games to ever win anything... but who knows, maybe they'll have like a singing game, because I could totally win something on a game like Rock Band or Karaoke Revolutions, lol.
Finally they are making it so you can copy any game to your 360 hard drive. You will still need to have the disk in the 360, but it will help you eliminate long load times, and I am assuming it will fix whatever is wrong with my Oblivion that makes it crash if I don't save every 2 minutes, so I am looking forward to that! You'll also be able to buy things from the xbox marketplace online and they will be downloaded onto your console.
I am really looking forward to all these changes! They say the 360 is going to be geared more towards the casual gamer now, which is cool because I consider myself a casual gamer and all... Although all this new stuff does sound fantastic, I'd just like to point out that i.m.o, Microsoft totally didn't need to change anything because the 360 already owned all the other systems anyways! hehe
GTA Swing Set of Doom
So I am sure anyone who is really into GTA has played around with this swing set already, but just in case someone hasn't discovered it yet, I thought I'd make a quick post about it! You can see on the map where it is located. It is in a little park right where the green locater is. Basically you grab a vehicle, drive in and position the car so that part of it is over one of the legs of the swing set. You then wait a few seconds until the swing set tries to reset and it blasts your car into the air, sometimes sending you flying a few blocks away, lol. I played around with it for a while, so below is a video of how to do it and what to expect.
Have I Finally Beat My World of Warcraft Addiction?!
The Fury of the Sunwell game patch brought a lot of new content to the game, which at the time sparked up my interest in the game, which had been somewhat faded as of late. When my last guild had fallen apart, and I suddenly wasn't raiding all the time, I found I wasn't as interested in the game anymore. I started leveling a few alts, still attempting to reach my goal of a level 70 of every possible class, but my heart just wasn't in it anymore. I had grown accustom to leveling with people, so suddenly leveling alone felt boring, and I couldn't play more than a few hours every day. Of course to some this would still seem like a lot of play time, but compared to the six+ hours I had been playing per day, 1-2 hours was a huge reduction.
I dove right into all the new Fury of the Sunwell stuff though, got into a new guild and had even started raiding weekly again and doing Arenas. I was having a blast with the game once more, striving to be among the first to Exalted with the Shattered Sun and hording my Badges of Justice to be able to get as much of the new badge gear as possible when the vendor was unlocked. I had even started farming gold again, which hadn't been fun for a few months, but I was determined to get an epic flying mount, without being broke afterwards. So what happened?
I was one day of dailys off reaching Exalted with the Shattered Sun, and was so excited about getting the of the Shattered Sun title for 1K gold. I had not missed a single day of dailys, especially not any of the new fishing and cooking ones. I woke up early on that fateful day and eagerly made my way to my comp, just to find my game time had expired! I had always paid with a certain credit card that I'd been having problems with, so I checked and sure enough it would no longer go through on the site. I didn't worry much, figuring I'd get a game card in the next couple days. A few days later I got one, and as I was out buying it, my Internet was cut off. This had happened a few times in the past due to complications or problems in the area, so I didn't worry too much, other than I was sorry to miss out on being Exalted for another day. It turned out that my Internet bill hadn't been paid for a few months (which I was unaware of because it wasn't one of the bills I paid, it was my roommate's), and was now cut off until they received the $500 back pay from the months we'd missed. Needing to play my WoW, I forked over the money myself immediately (which was all of my savings). It ended up taking almost two months to get it re-connected due to some mess up with our modem having to be replaced and stuff.
I don't really remember what I did with myself for those two Internetless months, other than wish I had Internet every day and steal very weak signals from my neighbour's wireless connections from my window. Unfortunately I could never keep the signal long enough to log onto WoW, so I lost a bunch of mail, never got Exalted with the Shattered Sun, and lost contact with the new guild I had joined. When it was finally all worked out, I quickly added the game card I had purchased ages ago to my account and logged on. I won't lie, I was expecting a grand reception from my WoW friends and new guild, with presents and "we missed you"s and tons and tons of in game "where are you" mails... There wasn't anything! No one even said anything to me when I logged on that day, because I guess everyone had gone off to do other things (play on other servers, other games, etc). I was so disappointed that the whole time I'd been Internetless, WoW and my WoW friends had been all I thought about, yet here I was, back after two months away, and WoW and my WoW friends had just kept on going without me. I guess that sort of put it all into perspective to me, and I suddenly realized how unimportant the World of Warcraft really was.
I had spent two months pining over my dear lost game, thinking I was missing out on so much, only to come back and suddenly see that it was just a game! I guess it was just all that distance I had from it that finally let me see it for what it was. I tried starting a new character on a new server, because although my obsession with the game had wained, I missed it!! I missed feeling like I had to play every day, so I thought maybe if I started over again, I'd get re-addicted. I played to level 18 I think on a PvP server, but couldn't get any farther. It just wasn't interesting anymore! I tried PvPing and leveling some of my higher alts. I gave farming a shot and even tried to do dailys, but I just couldn't! So, I stopped playing.
I think it's been a month or two since I've gotten my Internet back, but I haven't played WoW at all. I've thought about logging on a few times, but my computer screen is dieing so it flashes really bad if I try and play, which keeps me off it. I don't necessarily miss it anymore though. I do have a lap top for if I just had to play, but I haven't. I've been kind of watching how much my roommate plays, and it makes me not want to play! He bought a new game card to activate his second account over food one week, which I totally would have been all for a few months ago, but now it was just like omg what is wrong with you?
King expansion. I haven't given away my thousands of gold or any of my 70s yet just in case I do like playing again when it comes out. I'm not sure if I want to get back into it or not, Not playing WoW has been great, I must say! I've been going out so much, saving $60 / month (that I had been spending on my three accounts), and I've just been an overall happier gal! I had always just sort of joked about being addicted and WoW running my life, but I realize now that it really had been!!! We'll have to see if Blizz can rope me back in with this Wrath of the Litch expansion lol.
Funny Myspace Messages
So I recently made a Little Gamer Girl myspace. These are all real messages I have randomly gotten from people I do not know over the past two months. I know that perhaps a lot of them do not know much English, and that is the reason for the horrible spelling/ grammar, but they still made me giggle! Does that make me a bad person? Probably, but oh well, maybe they will make you laugh as well! (I'll remove all their IM addresses to make it seem less mean!)
1. "You can be encountered in the human sea, I believe it is God's arrangement, I do not beg to have the opportunity to make friends and you just hope you can often see the home page of the information you happy, I hope you live a happy and healthy!"
I will be yours, you will be mine, and we will be one and What is more important to you the love you share, the memories you have or the lover? Give love a chance to swallow you up. Don't just think it will happen in a instant, it will surprise you before you know it, but it will be the most rewarding experience you will ever have.I will be waiting for your reply that we make feel happy all the time.Thank you.
With love
from Leonardo"
This is for sure my favorite of all the random messages I have gotten from people I don't know on myspace! Check out the time and effort this guy must have put forth to come up with such an intense (confusing) love letter for someone he doesn't even know! hahaha, I wonder how many other inboxes received this lovely large message?
CoD4 Team Killers (grr)
I now enjoy this game a fair bit, and play it quite often. The few people I have witnessed playing tend to get very angry very easily at things that happen in the game, which makes me laugh at them. Recently however something has started to get a little irritating, even to me!
I like playing Hardcore Team Deathmatch the most. I am not very good yet, but I usually am not the worst either. Team killing gets very frustrating if you're not doing well, and sometimes people will decide they are going to kill me every chance they get, even though they are on my team. I'll always hear them yelling "Little Gamer Girl" through my TV speakers (not my headset because I am always chatting with someone when I am playing), so I guess they team kill me over and over to try and get my attention? Not the best way to go about doing that, lol, but whatever. Those idiots aren't the ones who bother me. It is the people who are being really dumb and wander in front of you when you are shooting at someone on the other team. Then I get a team kill because they are being stupid. That is not the worst part though! Then the idiot that wandered into my stream of bullets respawns and comes and kills me?! Like wtf? How incredibly dense do you have to be to think I freaking shot you on purpose when I was obviously shooting across the map at someone else?
I have to say this, so far, has been the only thing that gets me yelling at my tv. When those dolts come and seek revenge on me for something that I should be angry at them about ( I loose my points for them wandering into my bullets ), I do start calling them nasty names... Lol, of course it is never to them, only to whoever I happen to be chatting with at the time.
So, next time you are playing CoD4 and someone team kills you, before you go seeking revenge on the guy, make sure you didn't get killed because of your own stupidity!!! Sure, sometimes it is obvious that someone is team killing just to be an ass, but 80% of the time it is just an honest mistake, and you should be the one apologizing for messing up and costing someone their points!
Gears of War for the 360
So, perhaps it seems a bit late for a review on the few year old game, but I like to blog on what I play, and believe it or not, I still play Gears from time to time!
So what keeps me coming back to this MMOFPS when there are a few other, more popular ones out there (COD4, Halo 3, etc)? Gears is just different!
Gears just has this bloody, rough, rude and dirty feel to it! Of course I love COD4, and I know lots of people love Halo 3, but Gears still ranks high in comparison in my books, even though you can barely ever find people to play with these days! When I get tired of being sniped in COD4, or when my Oblivion freezes and I haven't saved in a while, or sometimes if I am just bored, I'll throw in some Gears and chainsaw the hell out of people and that always makes me smile! Nothing in COD4 compares to the excitement of a shotgun showdown in Gears and none of the soldiers from COD4 look nearly as tough as the COG gang! Although I do hate playing them because they are so ugly, the Locust do look pretty cool too!
I really like how there can be someone who is SO GOOD at Gears, and you can still get lucky sometimes and own them if you're careful. I think the chainsaws are ridiculously fun, and love how angry people get when you sneak up and get them with it! It is 100 times easier to play than COD4 (in terms of skill I mean), which is a nice change if I don't feel like taking my game playing seriously that day. Oh, and how cool is the Hammer of Dawn?!
Of course there are some not so good things about Gears, like the fact that if you're sprinting you can barely see anything other than your character's back. The bug that if you are downed with certain weapons out you can't switch. You can't play a female character, and of course the lag that sometimes makes a deadly shotgun blast to the chest shoot a car 5 feet behind you... but despite these, the game is still a blast! And this is only the multiplayer! There is a offline storyline to play through as well that is interesting, fun, and slightly frightening at times!
I think it would be so much fun to have another night of Gears with all my xbox friends like we used to ages ago! I think I'll try to set one up sometime soon, so if you read this and you're still into Gears, add me on xbox live and tell me, I'll try to include you if not many of my buds will play again!
Chainsaws Forever!
Frozen Oblivion
So, I had never had any problems with my Oblivion game until recently. It would get overwhelmed sometimes and take forever to load in like the middle of a town or something occasionally, but personally I had never seen it freeze up. Of course I am very careful with my disks when I am putting them in the 360 or taking them out, so I don't think I could have damaged it, and have not lent it to anyone in months.
Recently, like since the second last update for the game, it has started freezing on me. Sometimes it is when I am just about to start fighting something, or when I first go into a dungeon, but sometimes I am just wandering around and it randomly freezes. It never did anything like this before, and it wouldn't be so bad except it happens sometimes once every half hour!
I know this freezing is something new, because I have been playing the game a fair bit over the past month and it never froze! So, I am wondering what happened to it? The only thing I can figure is somehow maybe the updates messed it up? I don't know if that is even possible, and I tried to find some information on what the updates were supposed to do, but I couldn't.
What happens is the 360 window opens and says that the disk is unreadable and to eject, clean it, and put it back in or something. So, at first I figured it was my disk, but it is happening even when I'm playing in the Shivering Isles, so I don't know if that is the case anymore.
Basically I am just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems with their game. Maybe someone will have some input on what is wrong and how I might fix it, because there is nothing more frustrating than running somewhere you've never been before in the Shivering Isles and then having the game crash three times when you're almost there so you have to do it over and over! It is enough to make me not want to play anymore! Help!
Must Have Songs For Rock Band
Alright, so I know I have blogged about Rock Band so many times already, but here's another one! I decided rather than just commenting on all the new songs they bring out, that I'll make my personal favorites list! Then, as they come out with new must have songs, I'll just add them to my list. A lot of my opinion of a song will be based on how much fun it is to sing, because that's what I do most in Rock Band, but I do usually try it on Bass and Guitar as well if I like it enough.
So, in order of their release as downloadable songs, here are my favorites!The ones in pink are the ones that I actually listen to on a regular basis outside the game as well as play the sh*t out of on Rock Band. =)
3's & 7's - Queens of the Stone Age
Little Sister - Queens of the Stone Age
Sick Sick Sick - Queens of the Stone Age
The Kill - 30 Seconds to Mars
Dirty Little Secret - All-American Rejects
Move Along - All-American Rejects
Song With a Mission - The Sounds
Don't Look Back In Anger - Oasis
Live Forever - Oasis
Wonderwall - Oasis
Ten Speed (of God's Blood and Burial) - Coheed & Cambria
CrushCrushCrush - Paramore
Beethoven's C*** - Serj Tankian
More Than A Feeling - Boston
Still Alive - GlaDOS
It Hurts - Angels and Airwaves
Hysteria - Muse
Indestructible - Disturbed
Inside The Fire - Disturbed
Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold
Downloadable Content For Oblivion on Xbox 360 - What's Worth Getting?
For any of you Oblivion fans out there who are looking to add some content to your game, but aren't sure which of the many packs you should download, I'll go over them all quickly in this post. I have them all, so hopefully I can help you save some microsoft points, or encourage you to spend some!
Shivering Isles Expansion Pack: This will cost you 2400 Microsoft points, but it will give you about 30 hours of play time in the new area and you have to have this pack to get all the Shivering Isles acheivements! If you are looking for more playable content for your game, obviously this is the extra content you should get! It's an interesting place with cool quests, and well worth the Microsoft points if you have them!
Knights of the Nine Pack: This pack will cost you 800 Microsoft points, but it is a lot of fun! You end up with some nice armor and weapons, a cool base and minions! I'd definitely say it is worth getting if you are looking for some new content, although if you are choosing between this pack and the Shivering Isles, go with the Shivering Isles! It has more play time and you get the achievements.
Horse Armor: I would not recommend getting this pack! It will cost you 200 Microsoft points, and it is armor for your horse... If you are really worried about your poor horses getting killed, do the assassin's guild quests and get Shadowmare. He cannot be killed, is super fast and looks awesome. Also, if you need somewhere to put a few of those extra weapons, you can knock him out, fill him up, and ride away. (Cruel, but handy!)
The Orrey: This add on is only 150 Microsoft points, and it is kind of cool. You get to rebuild this giant mechanical star map thing for a quest and it looks neat when you're finished it. You can then get buffs from it depending on the phases of the moon. Of course it isn't an essential download, but it is fun if you are looking for a little quest and something new.
Wizard's Tower: This is a base that you can purchase for 150 Microsoft Points. If you are the magic user type, you should chose this download if you are looking into getting only one. All the downloadable bases cost a fair bit of money to upgrade to their intended glory though, so be prepared to fork over your hard earned gold!
The Thieve's Den: For 150 Microsoft points, this is my favorite out of the downloadable bases! You get to take over this pirate cove and send your crew out to plunder for you! Although it's not quite as fancy as the other bases, you do get to hang out with pirates and make 1000G a week from their plundering! It is designed to be for stealthy characters.
The Vile Lair: This base will cost you 150 Microsoft points as well. If you are playing as a vampire character, this is the base for you! It is pretty cool, especially if you are an evil character, and there is even an alter to cure your vampirism at if you want to.
Fighter's Stronghold: This is the newest of the downloadable bases and also costs 150 Microsoft points. It is a really cool castle that even has secret passageways, so if I wasn't so attached to my Thieve's Den, I am sure I would like this base best! It will cost you a lot to upgrade, but looks nice once you do, and once you've started upgrading you can purchase a special forge for it.
Spell Tomes: These cost 80 Microsoft points to add to your game, and they are handy. Basically you will find them on things you kill and as soon as you read them they will make you learn a spell. The 80 points that they cost is a reasonable price for new easy to learn spells.
Mehrunes' Razor: This pack will cost you 250 Microsoft points and is fun. It adds a large dungeon that you fight through to gain the powerful Mehrune's Razor, which has a chance to kill enemies in one hit. I think it is worth the points, and would recommended getting it if you are interested in seeing a new dungeon and some new items.
